Diesel Mechanic

As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions. You will inspect vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts, and carry out necessary repairs or replacements on vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts. The role also involves conducting field visits in case of emergencies or sudden breakdowns, test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance, and completing oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks. Additionally, maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles is required.

Responsibilities:

• Run diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpret results.
• Inspect and repair vehicle systems such as suspensions, steering, and exhausts.
• Repair or replace vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other parts.
• Conduct field visits for emergencies or sudden breakdowns.
• Test drive repaired vehicles to assess performance.
• Complete oil changes, wheel balancing, alignment, and brake checks.
• Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.

Essential Skills:

• Experience with diesel maintenance and repair.
• Knowledge of engine, transmission, and electrical systems.
• Proficiency in diagnostic testing and problem-solving.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with truck maintenance.
• Strong communication and record-keeping skills.

Work in a non-climate controlled shop equipped with fans to help keep it cooler. The facility features multiple bay doors to accommodate truck repairs.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greer, SC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
