Charge Segregation Analyst

Job Description Summary

The Charge Segregation Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of research-related billing in Epic. The role involves reviewing and validating charges associated with clinical research studies, directing charges to the appropriate payer based on current coverage analysis, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve billing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate research-related charges in the Epic system.
  • Direct charges to the appropriate payer based on coverage analysis.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve billing processes.
  • Under general supervision, manage and coordinate tasks for small projects related to billing compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including needs analysis, business cases, and feasibility studies.
  • Control budget, scope, and schedule of billing improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare status reports and provide updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify potential problems, facilitate resolution, and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience in support functions (or 0-2 years for a professional).
  • Strong understanding of billing and payer systems.
  • Project management experience with moderate complexity projects.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
