Responsible for managing or performing work associated with developing, communicating, implementing, enforcing and monitoring security controls to protect the organization's technology assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction. The Analyst I, Cyber Security reports to the Chief Information Security Officer.
This on-site position is open to Greenville, SC or Cincinnati, OH.
Designing and testing secure operating systems, networks, and databases.
Conducts network based and web application-based vulnerability scanning, virus management, and intrusion detection.
Monitoring and analyzing system access logs
Planning for security backup and system disaster recovery
Investigates and analyzes all response activities related to cyber incidents within the network environment or enclave.
Collects data from variety of Computer Network Defense (CND) tools, including intrusion detection system alerts, firewall and network traffic logs, and host system logs to analyze events that occur within their environment.
Provides operations for persistent monitoring of all designated networks, enclaves, and systems.
Interprets, analyzes, and reports all events and anomalies in accordance with computer network directives, including initiating, responding, and reporting discovered events.
Executes first level responses and addresses reported or detected incidents.
Distributes directives, vulnerability, and threat advisories to identified consumers.
Troubleshoots and maintains a variety of security tools, including IDS, log collectors, log backups, API connectors, and vulnerability scan engines.
As necessary, cross trains with other security areas to perform risk audits, assessments, password auditing, and providing security recommendations for application design.
3+ years of experience in the Information Technology field
Familiarity with security on Windows and Linux operating systems
Proficiency and experience with various network protocols, firewalls, remote access, network operating systems and vulnerabilities, computer operating systems and vulnerabilities, and network management tools
Good analytical and communication skills
Orientation for detail, coupled with organizational and project management skills
Ability to multi-task, respond well to pressure and deadlines, and work well individually and in a team environment
Flexible to changing priorities, project scopes, and deadlines.
Works under close supervision

Ability to explain facts, policies and practices related to job area
Ability to apply broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education or years of experience
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or a commensurate amount of experience to support job knowledge
Some Linux experience is preferred
