CNC Machinist

The CNC Machinist will operate CNC Mills and related equipment, ensuring precision and accuracy in the production process. You will be responsible for making program adjustments, editing G-Code, adjusting speed, feed, and tool depth, and performing complete setups, tool changes, and teardowns.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC Mills and related machinery.
  • Make program adjustments and edits.
  • Adjust speed, feed, and tool depth.
  • Understand and work with G-Code.
  • Complete setups, tool changes, and teardowns.
  • Use specialized saws or hand tools as required.
  • Utilize calipers and micrometers, with a solid understanding of fractions and decimals.
  • Read and interpret industrial blueprints.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure standards are met.
  • Operate a forklift for loading and unloading steel from machines.
  • Complete inspection sheets accurately.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in reading blueprints.
  • Understanding of G-Code.
  • Experience with CNC Mills and related machinery.
  • Ability to perform setups, changeovers, and teardowns.
  • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical and operational issues.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks, CAD/CAM, Autodesk Inventor, and GD&T.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with lathe and mill operations.
  • Experience with machine operating and programming.
  • Understanding of grinding and machining processes.

Work Environment:

The position is based in a machine shop environment with non-climate controlled conditions, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The available shifts are Sunday to Wednesday from 7 PM to 5 AM, with overtime required on Thursdays, working a total of 50 hours per week. Alternatively, there is a Monday to Thursday shift from 5 AM to 3 PM. This role is currently hiring for the night shift. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Inn, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
