Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of Eastern's Executive Leadership Team, responsible for shaping the financial strategy and guiding the company's next phase of growth. This leader will serve as both a strategic partner and a hands-on financial steward, ensuring operational excellence, fiscal health, and alignment with The Eastern Way — taking care of people, driving improvement, and operating with integrity.
The CFO will help lead Eastern into the future by building scalable systems, developing strong financial teams, and providing insight-driven guidance that supports both the business and the people who power it. A key priority for this role is to support the company's long-term strategic goal of approximately doubling in size over the next decade through disciplined expansion, innovation, and stewardship.
Key Responsibilities of the CFO - Strategic & Financial Leadership
- Partner with the President and Executive Team to define and execute Eastern's long-term strategic goal
- Provide forward-looking financial planning, modeling, and analytics to support expansion, acquisitions, and investment opportunities.
- Align financial strategy with our people-first mission and long-term business sustainability.
- Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards that create transparency, accountability, and actionable insights.
- Oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial reporting functions.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and technology to increase accuracy, efficiency, and speed.
- Drive financial strategy and infrastructure to support scalable growth and geographic expansion.
- Evaluate and structure capital investments, acquisitions, and partnerships to fuel sustainable growth.
- Oversee long-term capital planning and resource allocation to align with growth and stewardship objectives.
- Serve as executive liaison to the Board, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all reporting.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, and Purchasing to optimize pricing, margins, and profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing Finance and Accounting team grounded in teamwork and trust.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or closely held business a plus.
- Deep understanding of financial systems, forecasting, M&A, and capital strategy.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing compliance, risk management, and governance in a growing organization.
