Overview

Remote role licensed in AZ, FL, GA, NC, TX. Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), a division of First Citizens Bank, provides commercial and private banking to technology, life science, healthcare, private equity, venture capital, and premium wine industries. SVB serves innovative companies with deep sector expertise and connections.

Location

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and low-latency software components for FX trading platforms, including pricing engines, trade execution, and settlement.
• Build and maintain APIs and services to support integration with internal systems and third-party platforms.
• Design and develop technical solutions that meet user needs with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Drive department best practices, guidelines implementation, and adherence to standards.
• Abstracting, refactoring, and maintaining code is a passion, not a chore.
• Lead technical designs to consensus and approval by Architecture Review Team.
• Perform impact analysis of proposed changes on existing architecture, capabilities, and technology solutions.
• Be the go-to person for development team on architecture discussions.
• Supervise release processes (after-hours/weekend work may be required).
• Participate in production support and troubleshoot critical FX trading issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Software application development and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• System development experience for medium to large sized enterprise projects.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot production issues.
• Working knowledge of AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Docker, OpenShift, Terraform.
• Strong proficiency in design and development of distributed systems.
• Development experience with Java/JEE, Restful Webservices, Node, React.
• Experience building SpringBoot Microservices.
• Preferred experience on public API development and using API Gateway like Apigee.
• File-based transfer applications (e.g., Sterling, SFTP, etc).
• Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka).
• Strong proficiency in Design and Development RDBMS architecture and performance tuning systems like Oracle, MS-SQL, SQL Server and NoSQL databases.
• Worked on Agile projects and has complete knowledge of day to day Agile routines.
• Knowledge of FIX protocol, SWIFT messaging, or financial APIs.

Nice to Have

• Experience with FX or Payments Technology solutions using products IONs WSS, 360T, SWIFT integration or similar platforms.
• Banking/Payments Industry knowledge with experience delivering on large modernization/transformative efforts.
