Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary:

Primary Function: Assist in reviewing drawings and specifications to ensure that construction layout is accurate and progresses per contract and scheduling requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develops ability to interpret plans and specifications from Architect/Engineer and communicate information to others.
  2. Develops ability to identify layout and elevation problems that could delay construction and implement resolutions as directed.
  3. Develops understanding of a total station.
  4. Assists in the engineering by providing line and grade to jobsite crews in performance of their work.
  5. Develops ability to prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, estimates, etc.
  6. Directs craft personnel and subcontractors on layout of work.
  7. Works proactively as directed by the Superintendent to provide required layout information to subcontractors.
  8. Works with the project team to support, coordinate, and record all required 3rd party special testing and inspections.
  9. Assists with motivating field personnel in all efforts for safety, quality control, schedule
    adherence, and goals or objectives associated with the project.
  10. Assists in maintaining as-built record documents.
  11. Assists in project close-out activities.
  12. Maintains assigned company assets including but not limited to total stations, levels, and transits.
  13. Develops understanding of the navigation and use of project management software or similar software.
  14. Complies with M. B. Kahns Safety Program, OSHA guidelines, and Company policies, procedures, and standards.
  15. Promotes integrity, honesty, hard work, safety, and quality throughout all aspects of the project and is a professional representative of M. B. Kahn.
  16. Performs additional assignments as directed by management or as required for successful project completion.

Qualifications (Education/Experience):

  • Minimum 2-year Construction or Engineering Degree OR 1-3 years of practical field experience.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understands basic surveying and layout.
  • Understands geometric and mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrate good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
