Materials Process Engineer

Description:

MAU is hiring a Materials Process Engineer for our client in Greenville, SC. As a Materials Process Engineer, you will lead site-wide optimization of material supermarkets and large part presentation systems to improve material flow, storage, and delivery. This is a long-term contract opportunity.

Shift Information:

  • Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (4-year) in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or materials-related roles


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience in process engineering or manufacturing engineering
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Lean tools and methodologies


General Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles
  • Ability to develop and document standard work processes
  • Clear written communication skills for drafting concise work instructions
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Hands-on approach to process improvement initiatives


Essential Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with all site safety protocols and actively contribute to a safe working environment
  • Promote and uphold a Lean Manufacturing culture, including Standard Work practices and participation in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead standardization and improvement of material supermarkets, focusing on:
  • Safety compliance
  • Daily and visual management systems
  • 5S implementation and sustainment
  • Empty bin organization and material replenishment processes
  • Support warehouse optimization through relocation and organization of materials into rack and bin systems to improve inventory accuracy and picking efficiency
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement large part delivery systems to production areas, including:
  • Developing and documenting standard work processes
  • Creating clear and concise work instructions
  • Leading daily management routines to ensure system effectiveness
