Enterprise Data - Business Intelligence Analyst

DPR Construction is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Data Analyst to lead the development and management of company-wide dashboards. This role will primarily focus on aggregating and summarizing key metrics from across the organization, with a special emphasis on dashboards that support our Enterprise Goals & Objectives and other strategic initiatives. The role will partner with the data analytics and engineering teams to identify the key metrics for company-wide dashboards and assist in building the framework and consumption layers to ensure dashboards are aligned with more detailed workgroup dashboards.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with business stakeholders across all functional groups of DPR.
  • Develop a deep understanding of processes, tools, and goals, and articulate how developed KPIs align with those goals.
  • Create, maintain and communicate detailed schedules for KPI development.
  • Coordinate technical teams performing KPI development and communicate progress to business teams.
  • Create, maintain and execute quality control practices to ensure accurate information is delivered to end users.
  • Understand and align on business requirements; create and maintain dashboards and apps as required.
  • Deliver actionable insights to improve business processes and drive strategic conversations.
  • Track and monitor usage metrics to measure adoption and impact of analytics.
  • Complete Ad-Hoc analyses as required.
  • Identify root causes of data integrity issues and troubleshoot in the visualization tool.
  • Create complex data models in visualization tools and perform transformations as needed; query the data warehouse using SQL to analyze datasets; clean data as required.
  • Identify potential new datasets and integrations between source systems and the data warehouse; work with Technical Analysts to build requirements for views in DBT.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering to develop and maintain the data catalog and related documentation.
  • Follow, implement, and enhance data security and governance guidelines; manage access to DFLs, reports, and apps; implement row-level security where needed.
  • Complete impact analysis on reports when upstream changes occur; communicate impacts to stakeholders and customers.
  • Identify opportunities for data collaboration and integration; coordinate across T&I groups; explore AI/ML/Data Science opportunities as appropriate.
  • Provide training to end-users on how to use and interpret dashboards, and how to build reports themselves; support Self Service Analytics initiatives.
  • Operate as the Subject Matter Expert for data availability, quality, and processes; maintain understanding of data pipeline architecture and responsibilities of source systems.
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field with five (5) years of applicable experience; or Bachelors degree with seven (7) years of experience.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale analytics projects across multiple functional groups.
  • Experience guiding business partners through KPI development.
  • Construction experience strongly preferred; knowledge of industry trends and terminology.
  • Strong data visualization and BI skills, including Power BI (dataflows) and ability to create semantic data models; SQL scripting required; experience with REST/GraphQL APIs.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with internal/external clients and adapt to changing environments.
