Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school established in 2009 with an unwavering focus on To and Through College at every grade level. The school combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health; on-site meals, daily physical education, and social-emotional literacy are integrated into the culture and curriculum. Legacy Early College operates at the site of the historic Parker High School and the former Greenville County Fine Arts Center.

Legacy Early College is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our HR team. This role is crucial in supporting our mission to provide high-quality education and foster a positive work environment.

Position Overview

Role: People Operations Generalist & Talent Support

Department: Human Resources

Location: On-site at Legacy Early College

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support recruitment efforts by coordinating interviews, reviewing applicant data through the ATS, and assisting hiring managers with candidate screening and onboarding logistics.
  • Recruitment responsibilities will fluctuate seasonally and are supported by the schools applicant tracking system (UKG).
  • Coordinate and administer HR programs such as recruiting, training, and employee relations.
  • Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees on HR-related matters.
  • Support the HR Director with the administration and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the HR Director on compliance, employee engagement, and process improvements as needed.
  • Back-up to payroll, leaves, and benefits administration.
  • Coordinate training and development programs for staff.
  • Handle employee relations issues and resolve conflicts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of five years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist and recruiter role.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in HR software (UKG) and Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Schedule & Location

This position operates on the 240-day schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar. This role is based on-site at Legacy Early College.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Standard office environment with occasional school events.
  • Position will have periods of extended work week hours, which are required to support both the ongoing development of the region and the delivery of high-quality education for all students.
  • Part of the HR team with no direct reports.
