Job Summary
The Solutions Architect works as part of a multi?specialist team to ensure that the ZOLL technology and architecture strategy are implemented while bolstering security in the area that they support to transform business capabilities and enable the next generation digital services. The role is primarily responsible for designing solutions that outline the technical architecture of a solution by using strong analytical skills, allowing you to analyze complex business problems and requirements. It also expects you to contribute to enterprise?level design patterns that extend beyond a single solution.
With extensive experience working in a solution architecture or technical design role, the candidate should have an understanding of project management frameworks to ensure the solution is delivered on time and within budget. Outstanding collaboration skills and the ability to translate information from business stakeholders to understand business processes and operations are essential so that the solution aligns with business objectives.
Essential Functions
- Understanding client and stakeholder requirements and translating them into architecture designs.
- Collaborating with clients, stakeholders and cross?function teams to define technical solutions to complex problems.
- Working with clients and stakeholders to help them make effective decisions about data, architectures, and technology.
- Having an understanding of value streams, business process and capability modelling.
- Acting as an architecture champion to mentor colleagues, provide support and guidance across the enterprise.
- Acting as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings and being involved in assessing technology across the enterprise application/technology portfolio.
- Contributing to strategic relationships in the technology environment.
- Designing and directing governance activities along with other IT stakeholders.
- Creating and updating relevant artefacts such as solution templates.
- Contributing to a vision, roadmap, strategy for the Infrastructure development lifecycle functions for ZOLL using standardized, reusable and innovative architectures.
- Implementing solution architecture frameworks for the supported area, ensuring consistency, standardization and related best practices.
- Understanding the ZOLL landscape, identifying opportunities and potential constraints to actively develop solutions.
- Providing guidance on enterprise adoption of new standard technologies.
- Contributing to enterprise reference architecture.
- Keeping up to date with technology developments and best practice.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
- Extensive experience of implementing architectural standards and best practice.
- Previous experience of working with virtual, multi?cultural and matrixed teams and 3rd parties.
- Extensive experience working in a solution architecture or technical design role.
- Exposure to multiple diverse technologies, platforms and processing environments.
- Good understanding of product management, agile principles and development methodologies.
- Experience with modern work management tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitHub.
- Experience developing architecture blueprints, strategies and roadmaps.
- TOGAF or equivalent (preferred).
- ITIL (preferred).
- CISSP?ISSAP (preferred).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to drive change and improve working.
- Able to communicate with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to propose and estimate financial impact of solutions architecture.
- An analytical ability to solve business problems.
- Knowledge of service transition processes to ensure the solution can be smoothly transitioned into operation.
