Trinity Rail is hiring a Career NDT Quality Inspector at our Keysville, VA Mobile Repair site. For this position, you must relocate to Keysville, VA.

The Career NDT Quality Inspector position offers a great opportunity for a resilient, team-oriented individual who embraces challenges.

As a member of the Maintenance/Repair Services team at Trinity, youll perform Non-Destructive Testing for preventive maintenance and structural and mechanical repairs.

• What you'll do:
• Hold certifications in at least two NDT methods.
• Perform on-the-job NDT training and guide trainees.
• Assist in completing tasks to meet deadlines.
• Inspect tank cars according to qualification procedures to ensure compliance with FRA, AAR, Trinity Industries, and customer requirements.
• Have knowledge of welding and welding inspection.
• Utilize basic hand tools.
• Measure accurately to specifications.
• Possess basic mechanical aptitude to read drawings and use railroad gauges, testing techniques, and test equipment.
• Work from blueprints or other specifications/schematics.
• Complete inspection documentation accurately.
• Understand and quickly learn complex procedures, standards, and regulations.
• Follow all safety rules and practices.
• Participate in safety committees or initiatives if involved.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Communicate technical information effectively.
• Enter tank cars via a manway opening approximately 20 inches in diameter.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous railroad repair experience is preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of industry-specific tests and test equipment.
• Experience in quality control/assurance in manufacturing is preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers, operating systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Certified in at least two of the following methods:
• Visual Test Method (VT)
• Remote Visual Test Method (RVI)
• Leak Testing Test Method (BLT)
• Ultrasonic Thickness Test Method (UTT)
• Have documented classroom training hours and experience hours for the employed NDT method.
• Ability to obtain NDT Level II certifications per Trinity Rails written practice.
• Must have a valid Drivers License and a clean driving record.
