Job Summary

Denny's is seeking an experienced Internal Communications Manager with a passion for storytelling and engaging employees with dynamic content. In this role, you will work with our head of Communications to win the hearts and minds of employees by shaping company culture, keeping them informed, engaged and aligned with the organization's goals.

The position will also partner with their own Marketing team to understand and communicate out Marketing plans to key stakeholders. Plus, help to generate content that positions Denny's as an employer of choice. The ideal candidate is a talented writer who is energized by informing and inspiring internal audiences. Candidates will be asked to submit writing samples and/or complete a timed writing test. This is a Spartanburg, SC based position.

Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities)

  • Be a key member of the Marketing team who attends meetings while contributing and understanding the ongoing projects and objectives.
  • Partner with leaders across Denny's business to develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy. Be a departmental liaison to help coordinate messages and tie them all together when appropriate.
  • Develop and manage a variety of internal communications vehicles and content, including emails, newsletters, company meetings, internal talking points, and other internal communications initiatives.
  • Build emails (or other communication vehicles) in a creative way that is engaging and easy to comprehend, proof information, share with subject matter experts for approval, and be accountable for communicating accurate information.
  • Work to develop new and effective internal communications channels.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Communications, Journalism, or a related field. Master's degree a plus.

Experience: 8-10 years of experience in communications

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong background in internal communications, including excellent speaking, writing, and editing skills
  • Strong organizational skills, sense of urgency, and attention to detail
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the ability to support multiple projects at one time
  • Passion for all things internal communications, displaying a growth mindset and the ability and interest to innovate
  • Ability to distill and shape storytelling from an employee point of view
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams)
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, collaboration, positivity, and an entrepreneurial spirit are criticalno matter the size of the project
  • Experience in a franchise business is a plus

The typical pay range for this role is: Minimum:$88,000.00 - Maximum:$121,000.00
