Location: Greenville, SC

Position Status: Contract to Hire

Pay Rate: $32 - $37/hour

Position Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician to join a high-performing facilities operations team in Greenville, SC. In this role, you will perform advanced HVAC system diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs in a complex, mission-critical environment. You'll work with a variety of systems including facility HVAC equipment, electrical distribution systems, and automation controls.

This role is ideal for a senior-level technician with deep expertise in HVAC troubleshooting, motor and logic control systems, and low voltage systems such as fire alarms and data systems. You will lead projects critical to campus operations and collaborate across trades to ensure building systems are running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

* Perform advanced preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems and facility equipment

* Diagnose and resolve issues in HVAC controls, automation systems, and electrical components

* Design, interpret, and evaluate HVAC systems based on calculated load requirements and ventilation needs

* Replace or repair electronic components (e.g., PCBs, relays, contactors, switches)

* Install and wire lighting, conduit, general power, and mechanical equipment

* Ensure compliance with NEC, local building codes, OSHA safety standards, and company/client policies

* Operate and maintain certification for lifts, including forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts

* Coordinate effectively with cross-functional trades and project teams

* Maintain accurate service documentation and follow all reporting procedures

* Lead projects with high organizational impact and ensure quality control

* Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Education:

* 5-10 years of relevant HVAC experience or equivalent combination of education and training

* High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or HVAC licensing preferred

* Strong understanding of motor controls, logic control systems, and automation

* Familiarity with low voltage systems, fire alarms, and data/voice systems

* Proven ability to read schematics, technical diagrams, and mechanical blueprints

* Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, peers, and leadership

* Basic computer skills for documentation and work order management

* Must possess a valid driver's license

* Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work in varying environmental conditions

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

* Regularly exposed to mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems

* Occasional work in high places, extreme temperatures, or confined spaces

* Regular use of hand tools, ladders, and company vehicles

* Must be able to stand, kneel, climb, and lift heavy equipment safely
