Job Overview: A respected law firm is currently seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney for its Greenville, SC office. Duties:

  • Review and assess new files, establishing action plans, budgets, and legal recommendations.
  • Determine pleading requirements and delegate tasks to paralegals and legal assistants.
  • Prepare discovery responses and oversee document production.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and other discovery events, providing detailed reports.
  • Negotiate settlements, secure authority, and prepare for trial when needed.
  • Maintain consistent communication with paralegals, legal assistants, and clients to ensure smooth case progression.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience in workers' compensation law.
  • South Carolina Bar membership is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and independently.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
  • Prior experience in insurance defense is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in South Carolina (Bar Certification).

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Proven negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Experience in litigation and case management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal database management systems.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team and mentor junior staff.
