This position is for a Flight Test Control Engineer (FTCE) within the Test and Evaluation directorate based in Greenville, SC. The role involves supporting the modification of USAF flight test aircraft at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Flight Test Aircraft Modification Support: Provide engineering support for flight test aircraft modifications and ground operations.
  2. Coordination and Execution of Tasks: Direct aircraft modifications, coordinate and execute engineering-directed tasks, including ground testing, maintenance on test hardware, and pre-flight/post-flight activities.
  3. Configuration Management: Control and track aircraft configuration, coordinate support equipment, develop and maintain test schedules, and collaborate with involved organizations.
  4. Point of Contact: Act as a liaison for the Test and Evaluation directorate, requiring strong communication skills with all management levels.

Qualifications:

  1. Experience: 5-10 years of professional experience for this level 3 role.
  2. Flight Test Expertise: Experience with military aircraft flight testing.
  3. Modification Experience: Experience with avionics/mission systems or vehicle/utility systems modifications.
  4. Engineering Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Desired Skills:

  1. Bachelor's Degree: in Engineering or a related technical field (highly preferred).
  2. Security Clearance: Secret clearance required.
  3. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with technical orders, military flight operations, and maintenance concepts.
  4. F-16 Expertise: Knowledge of F-16 avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems is a plus.
  5. System Knowledge: Understanding of aircraft systems/subsystems and support equipment.
  6. Troubleshooting Skills: Fault isolation and problem analysis at the subsystem level.
  7. System/Software Engineering: Knowledge of system/software engineering environments.
  8. Modification Experience: Aircraft modifications or familiarity with USAF T2 modification processes.
  9. SAP and SFM: Working knowledge of SAP and Shop Floor Management is advantageous.

Other Important Information:

  1. Travel: Requires >75% travel, primarily to Eglin AFB, FL.
  2. US Citizenship: Required due to facility access requirements.
