Base pay range

$115,000.00/yr - $130,000.00/yr

Must Haves

  • Five years or more of industrial maintenance experience
  • Must have a solid history of electrical engineering experience involving the design and installation of low to medium voltage electrical equipment and systems.
  • Familiarity WITH PLC systems, interfacing techniques between control platforms, safety interlock testing techniques and requirements.
  • Knowledge of field instrumentation technology, specification, installation, configuration, and testing.
  • Experience with project design and project management

Plusses

  • Experience in process control and instrumentation design is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in SAP PS (Project Systems) and PM (Plant Maintenance) modules is preferred
  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards and practices is a plus
  • Familiarity with electrical design/modeling software (eg SKM, ETAP, Easy Power, etc.)

Day to Day

Insight Global is seeking a full-time Electrical Project Engineer to support capital projects and maintenance initiatives across advanced materials manufacturing facilities in Piedmont and Rock Hill, SC. This role is ideal for an engineer with 5–10 years of experience who can hit the ground running, managing electrical capital projects up to $3–5 million while supporting day-to-day maintenance. Responsibilities include leading infrastructure upgrades, VFD enhancements, substation installations, and PLC/process control modifications, with a focus on power systems and high-voltage equipment (480V–12.7KV). The engineer will oversee contractors, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and split time between office planning and field execution. This position will eventually replace the sole Electrical Engineer on site, who is expected to retire within 1–2 years. Additional job responsibilities are below:

  • Effectively manage multiple capital and expense projects simultaneously from project concept (FEL I-III) to implementation and closure (full execution).
  • Develop project scopes, cost estimates, and schedules with input from Production, Process, and Maintenance engineering teams.
  • Lead and manage external engineering contractors for large capital project design efforts and provide additional design resources during peak activity levels.
  • Develop engineering specifications and bid packages for engineering services, construction labor, and equipment.
  • Lead project design reviews with input from multiple departments, such as Production, Industrial Automation, Process Engineering, and Maintenance.
  • Provide technical support in reliability issues and assist in troubleshooting process or equipment issues.
