BAE Systems is hiring a Human Resources Director who will support a collection of our C-Suite executives and their functional teams. In this role, the Human Resources Director is responsible for strategizing, planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of HR Management, including the implementation of key activities related to succession planning, talent management, benefits, compensation, performance management, and high potential assessment and development. This role will own the HR strategy for a portion of our headquarters functions, identifying solutions and tackling the most pressing talent opportunities and challenges at a strategic level, successfully partnering with functional leaders to create value for the business.
This role is pivotal to ensuring the organization's ability to create an inclusive culture, accelerate development for our employees, build people leader capability, forecast and develop our critical skills roadmap and implement solutions that result in a strong retention for our talent.This role also has responsibility to serve as the Talent, Development & Learning (TD&L) lead for our HQ teams, serving as an expert c onsultant, trusted advisor and strategic partner to key stakeholders, including senior business and HR leaders. In this capacity, this role will advise on TD&L center of expertise offerings for key programs including employee development, talent reviews, succession planning, performance management and organizational effectiveness.
This position may be fully remote or hybrid with an understanding that travel will likely be required across the US-based BAE Systems footprint.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a coach, strategic advisor and business partner to the sector senior leadership
Identify and develop key talent to grow the business, build current and future capability, and achieve long-term business success
Build relationships with business leaders to offer thought leadership on organizational and people-related strategy and execution
Design and Implement HR solutions to progress functional people strategies and deliver value to the business
Understand the business strategy and identify opportunities to increase alignment with the strategy by helping business leaders identify, prioritize and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures and processes.
Diagnose gaps between current and desired organization performance and deploy actions to resolve gaps, including organization redesign, process change, coaching and training
Analyze workforce trends to model and forecast future labor requirements to support senior leaders in workforce planning and succession management.
Align performance management and reward strategies to reinforce an environment of dedication and innovation
Coach senior leaders to improve leadership abilities, relationships among teams/individuals and interpersonal communications, as well as deliver effective performance feedback.
Partner closely with sector Human Resources colleagues and leadership, as well as colleagues in the center of excellence and others across the company
Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to foster trust and influence key decisions
Influence leaders to action and understand business strategies
Translate strategies into an executable plan that will help Sector leadership address key human capital needs that are directly related to the successful delivery of business outcomes and performance
Serve as a project manager, including strategizing, planning, organizing, and coordinating all aspects of Human Resources
Serve as a creative problem solver; formulate recommendations using data to clearly demonstrate the value of the solution
Must be results oriented and resilient, delivering consistent results while exhibiting behaviors in line with BAE culture
Provide strong people leadership by serving as a direct supervisor to HR manager
Collaborate closely with HQ stakeholders (business leaders and HRBPs) to advance and balance relevant business and development objectives that support functional strategies
Represent the HQ functions on the BAE Learning Council
Lead TD&L initiatives and partner closely with HQ HRBPs to execute TD&L deliverables across all HQ functions
Partner with HR and business leaders to raise awareness about TD&L offerings and serve as conduit back to the TD&L COE on behalf of the HQ HR team
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typically, a bachelor s degree and 12 years of experience, or Master s and 10 years experience or a PhD with 8 years experience or 14 years experience with an associate s degree or 16 years experience with a High school diploma.
Experience in Human Resources Management/Leadership
Experience in Strategic HR development and execution
Experience in Human Resources including succession planning, talent management, benefits, compensation, performance management, etc.
Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy as well as deep knowledge of HR policies, processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management) and talent management practices
Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy and develop clear, actionable steps in support of the overall business strategy
Ability to synthesize large quantities of quantitative and qualitative data, recognize trends, tie back to business priorities and develop recommendations based on data analysis
Experience in Program/Project Management
Experience in People Management/Leadership
Ability to develop effective relationships
Ability to lead change and organizational transformation

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $135556 - $230444
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
