Water Resources Engineer

Description:

SeamonWhiteside is looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our growing water resources team as a Water Resource Engineer in our Greenville, South Carolina office.

This position will focus on the analysis and design of water and wastewater infrastructure to include gravity and pressure sanitary sewer mains, water transmission mains, and pumping systems. The successful candidate will be leading the technical execution and delivery of projects and tasks ranging from water and wastewater system assessments and master planning, asset inventory and management, water/wastewater hydraulic studies, water/wastewater transmission main extensions, pump station design, design and preparation of construction documents, and construction administration.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Agricultural Engineering, required

Master's Degree is a plus

Experience: 4 - 8 years work experience in a similar position

Desired Skills

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with design of municipal water and wastewater infrastructure, such as collection systems, pump stations, and closed conduit system
  • Proficient use of hydraulic modeling software such as PCSWMM, EPANET, and WaterCAD
  • Extensive knowledge and capabilities with ESRI ArcGIS Pro, Survey 123, and Field Maps
  • Detailed experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D software for preparation of construction documents
  • A strong desire for continuous professional and personal development and improvement

Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • General office environment: Works generally at a desk in a well-lit, air-conditioned cubicle/office, with moderate noise levels
  • Outdoor field investigations may occur based on project requirements
  • Periods of stress may occur

Physical Demands

  • Activities require a significant amount of sitting at office and work desks and in front of a computer monitor
  • Outdoor field investigations may require physically demanding tasks such as investigating infrastructure or inspecting ongoing construction projects
  • Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel
