Overview

We are looking to add new talent to our growing team. This is a full-time position located in our Raleigh, NC, Charlotte, NC or Greenville, SC offices. We deliver a diverse array of projects that require site characterization; due diligence assessments; environmental investigation related to soil, groundwater, and vapor intrusion issues; state and USEPA regulatory interaction; and field support during remedy implementation and construction. We seek professionals with a passion for solving complex client problems and a drive to be a change agent within the culture.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the environmental group in the Carolinas area.
  • Collaborate with a team supporting a wide variety of clients on challenging projects.
  • Understand client needs and develop strong client relationships.
  • Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements.
  • Provide clear verbal and written communications including client deliverables.
  • Assign and manage work of others effectively.
  • Demonstrate coaching and mentoring skills to more junior staff.
  • Plan and direct environmental field observation and testing programs, including laboratory test selection and data evaluation.
  • Work with project teams to address client goals, with focus on:
    • Site investigations to delineate contamination in soil, sediment, groundwater, surface water, and soil gas (Phase I/Phase II assessments).
    • Develop remedial alternative analysis and remedial action work plans.
  • Prepare proposals, project reports/deliverables, and regulatory compliance submissions.
  • Support marketing of Haley & Aldrich services to existing clients and understand other practice areas.
  • Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior, and health & safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering or Geology/Hydrogeology.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in environmental regulations, due diligence, environmental investigation, remediation, compliance, and environmental construction support; professional services consulting experience is preferred.
  • Professional registration or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of hire.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to technical detail.
  • Experience managing all phases of environmental projects, including delegation of work, schedule, cost, quality, and client relationships.
  • Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Bluebeam preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient at writing, reviewing, and editing technical reports.
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and refresher updates; strong commitment to safety.
