Job Details

Serves as crew leader on a vegetation crew, coordinating various construction, repair, and preservation activities of roads within Greenville County or a section of Greenville County ensuring that all work performed is recorded in the maintenance data management system. Instructs crew members daily in safety practices such as flagging operations, wearing safety equipment, vehicle safety, or job site hazards. Performs skilled manual labor and operates medium or heavy-duty equipment such as a complex mower, in a variety of activities associated with the construction, repair, and preservation of roads and bridges on the state highway system. Coordinates the placement of traffic control devices to properly set up a maintenance work zone according to the SCDOT Work Zone Traffic Control Manual and Field Guide to warn motorists.
