Overview

FirstKem, LLC is seeking a seasoned high-performing Government Sales & Contracts Manager to lead and support our government sales initiatives across federal, state, and local levels. This hybrid role combines strategic sales leadership with hands-on contract management, with a strong focus on aerospace consumable products such as abrasives, tapes, films, adhesives, chemicals, and specialty materials used in the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of vehicles, aircraft, and marine equipment. The ideal candidate is experienced in identifying and responding to government solicitations and is also capable of developing unsolicited proposals that align with business needs.

A proven track record of securing government contracts particularly within aerospace is highly desirable. Existing relationships along with a solid understanding of post-award project management are essential for effectively supporting our team and ensuring successful contract execution. This role requires the ability to navigate complex procurement environments, especially those involving materials critical to aerospace and related industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support sales efforts within assigned government accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government clients and prospects.
  • Manage and respond to RFQs and long-term government contracts.
  • Navigate government procurement processes, websites, codes, and procedures.
  • Oversee government order expediting, inspections, and shipping logistics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategies with operational goals.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience.
  • Proven experience in government sales.
  • Strong understanding of government procurement and contract management.
  • Familiarity with aerospace consumable products.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient in computer systems and sales tools.
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems creatively.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to continuous self-development.
  • High degree of self-motivation and accountability.
  • Possesses a strong internal drive to achieve goals.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
