Job Details

Operates 5 yard standard dump truck and flatbed truck for hauling materials such as asphalt, limestone, dirt, soil, cement, pipe, construction materials and debris. Performs manual labor in a variety of activities associated with the construction, repair, and preservation of state highway roads and bridges. Assists with placement of traffic control devices to properly set up maintenance work zones. Serves as a flagger to safely direct and control traffic in maintenance work zones. Removes litter, debris, and dead animals from roadway and rights-of-way. Operates and maintains power tools, and hand tools to perform a variety of highway and bridge maintenance activities. Operates small equipment such as self-contained sweeper, tractor with broom and brine sprayer In conjunction with highway and bridge maintenance operations, and standard dump truck with snow plow attachment and sand spreader or brine sprayer applicator for removal of snow and ice from highways and bridges.
