Provide mechanical design and project support of test programs in the CDT labs, Test stands and Field Engine testing. Support precision sensor development including optical technology, traditional temperature, pressure and strain, and other technologies unique to gas turbine validation. Provide support of machining operations (milling, drilling, turning)Create detailed 3 D models of precision hardware, component specifications, and drawings, including utilizing PLM for formal documentation and revision control. Perform mechanical analysis & engineering calculations of components including strain/stress, thermal, and vibration analysis. Provide mechanical design and system process review of validation equipment. Review, evaluate, and approve supplier analyses & designs working with Sourcing to ensure cost effective design solutions. Ensure compliance with applicable local & international codes and standards (such as ASME, ASTM, ATEX, NEC, EU Norms, etc.).
