About the Facility:
Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art plant-set on over 200 acres-will feature a flexible production line capable of manufacturing both internal combustion and electric vehicles. Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks, Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks, with a targeted capacity of up to fifty thousand units annually by 2030.. Assembly operations are expected to launch in 2027, with expansion slated for 2028. Strategically located near I-85, I-26, and the Port of Charleston, the site supports streamlined logistics and consolidated operations under one roof. This initiative is projected to create over 700 new jobs in the area.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for preparing and managing annual inspection and maintenance plans for production and inspection equipment, spare parts, and related devices used on the production line. This role oversees facility and plant maintenance cost tracking, manages vendor relationships for spare parts suppliers, and ensures compliance with applicable government directives. The position leads the implementation and administration of the CMMS, maintains accurate equipment records and bills of materials, and coordinates with manufacturers and contractors to support production readiness. The Maintenance Planner inspects and reports on outsourced construction or modification work upon completion, supports predictive maintenance activities, and responds to abnormalities to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage annual inspection and preventive maintenance plans for production and inspection equipment, spare parts, and related devices used on the production line.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, procurement, and vendor coordination to ensure availability and cost control.
  • Administer the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including equipment recordkeeping, bill of materials verification, and uploading technical documentation.
  • Track and manage facility and plant maintenance-related expenses to align with budget targets.
  • Coordinate with manufacturers, suppliers, and contractors for maintenance-related services and projects.
  • Inspect and report on outsourced construction, modification, repair, or capacity enhancement work upon completion to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Support predictive maintenance activities, including infrared thermography, vibration analysis, ultrasonic testing, and other PDM tools.
  • Monitor and resolve abnormalities, including discrepancies in technical documentation and field conditions, escalating as needed for resolution.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and documentation for compliance and performance tracking.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives by promoting safe work practices and ensuring adherence to company safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and company objectives.

Required Education, Training, & Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or higher education preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in maintenance planning, production equipment maintenance, or related role in a manufacturing environment (automotive manufacturing experience preferred).
  • Experience implementing and administering a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); SAP and/or UpKeep experience strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with predictive maintenance (PDM) tools and techniques such as infrared thermography, vibration analysis, and ultrasonic testing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and contractors for maintenance services and spare parts procurement.
  • Experience with spare parts inventory control, budgeting, and cost tracking.
  • Prior experience with new equipment installation, commissioning, and production start-up preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and production line equipment.
  • Knowledge of equipment and plant maintenance principles, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Understanding of spare parts inventory management, procurement, and vendor coordination.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations related to equipment safety, maintenance, and operations.
  • Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficiency in CMMS administration, data entry, and report generation (SAP and/or UpKeep preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills for reviewing technical documentation, bills of materials, and maintenance data.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and interact with vendors and contractors.
  • High attention to detail with commitment to accuracy in documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Problem-solving ability to address equipment or documentation discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
