Description
JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the setting up of all fixtures, cutting tools and gage operation that pertain to the secondary operations department; in addition to filling, it as a back-up to the supervisor.
Reports to: CNC Machining Supervisor / Manager
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Able to perform the functions of the CNC Operator.
- Assists with monthly inventory and able to train new operators
- Responsible for maintaining fixtures and tools safe and operational
- Monitors the cutting tool inventories of the machining department & provide detailed information to purchasing when reordering
- Sharpens cutting tools as required
- Responsible for keeping fixture and tool storage clean and orderly
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Able to work without close supervision and ability to multi-task.
- Requires basic reading, writing and math skills.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Solid understanding of blueprints and specifically GD&T is required.
- 1-2 Years of experience operating CNC machines and mechanical tools required.
- Must be willing to attend classes or training seminars pertaining to this position
- First Responder Certified
