The South Carolina's Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join their team! Under limited supervision by the Director of Behavioral Health, this position provides counseling and intervention strategies for the students of the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. Counsel's students on social, emotional, and mental health issues and concerns. Reviews and interprets data on student discipline, absenteeism, grades, and other matters. Seeks and examines trends to identify students needing additional support and guidance. Recognizes and addresses barriers to access mental health services and associated stigma, including cultural and linguistic impediments. Communicates in a regular and timely manner concerning student incidents, problems, and progress. Coordinates conferences amongst involved parties, as necessary.
