Founding Data Platform Engineer

Core Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop scalable backend services and APIs to support the company's core platform
  • Build and maintain efficient data pipelines to power analytics and AI/ML use cases
  • Oversee the architecture and optimization of the data lake and data warehouse
  • Design workflows that support integration and experimentation with machine learning models
  • Ensure backend systems meet performance, security, and reliability standards
  • Make key infrastructure decisions, focusing on scalability and data governance
  • Collaborate on long-term operational strategy and technical vision
  • Manage client-facing dashboards and ensure accuracy of data delivery
Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Expertise in Python, SQL, and backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Django, Node.js)
  • Experience with modern data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Spark)
  • Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong understanding of both relational and non-relational databases
  • Familiarity with AI/ML development workflows, including model training and inference
  • Highly detail-oriented with a growth mindset and strong collaboration skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication abilities
  • Comfortable operating in a high-stakes, fast-paced startup environment
