Job Summary

Performs day to day operations and dispatch related to the movement of the automated computerized transport system (ATS) throughout Prisma Health to include providing the operating room with case carts and instruments to and from sterile processing. Transports instruments, supplies, linen, food and equipment to and from all nursing units, floors, and departments.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for tasks related to the operations of the ATS system and dispatch. Monitors ATS system and responsible for the timely and accurate movement of all carts and motor bases as well as maintenance and transportation of OR case carts, instrument, equipment, supplies, linen, food, etc. via the ATS system on a daily basis. Coordinates staff to ensure all tasks are covered.

• Responsible for keying in orders and monitoring the computer system to insure all items transported on the ATS system reaches their requested destination. Completes all documentation required by the ATS Material Services department.

• Detects repairs necessary, implements repair requests as required and recommends PM frequency changes, additions, deletions to PM schedule.

• Performs manual distribution of linen, supplies, food, etc. throughout PH when ATS system is down in a timely manner.

• Interacts and communicates with customers to facilitate needs in positive and supportive manner. Communicates pertinent information to manager/supervisor.

• Responsible for ATS staff operations in the absence of Manager/Supervisor.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - High School diploma or equivalent

• Experience - Two (2) years automated distribution/transport experience. Healthcare experience preferred
