Performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physicians order and departmental policy. Works independently in all acute and critical care settings. Consults with physicians and other personnel and makes recommendations on treatment as appropriate. Essential Functions. Initiates, monitors and manages patients requiring various types of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation. Initiates and manages various types of airways and associated equipment. Obtains blood gasses from sites. Analyzes and reports results. Documents and charges for respiratory care procedures and tasks.
