Summary

Star EV is seeking an experienced Procurement & Materials Leader for purchasing, supplier management and inventory materials control. This role is responsible for ensuring a reliable flow of materials and components to support production and sales while optimizing costs, vendor relationships and inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will have both strategic buying experience and hands-on inventory management expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement/Buying

• Source, negotiate and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Issue purchase orders, track deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor market trends, lead times and cost drivers for key materials.
• Develop cost-savings initiatives and supplier performance scorecards.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards.

Inventory & Materials Management

• Overseeinventory control processes, cycle counts and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, usage and reorder points.
• Forecast demand in coordination with sales and production teams.
• Coordinate with Warehouse/Shipping to ensure smooth material flow.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Engineering and Production Teams to ensure timely availability of components.
• Work with finance to manage budgets, payment terms and landed cost analysis.
• Support logistics and shipping teams with vendor scheduling and inbound freight.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• 5+ years industry-specific (manufacturing, automotive or EV industry) experience in procurement, supply chain or materials management.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems. SAP Business 1 a plus.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Hands-on experience with inventory control.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and financial savvy (cost analysis, landed cost, tariffs, etc.)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team collaborated, entrepreneurial environment.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be willing to have "hands on approach" and "self-motivation" skills.
