Manufacturing Engineer Location: Simpsonville, SC Job ID: #71491 Pay Range: $60-71 an hour 12 month contract Job Description The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing and improving processes related to cable harness and integrated assemblies. The engineer will work within an Engineering team, collaborating with Quality and Operations. This team's responsibility is to ensure a safe manufacturing solution is delivered which meets and exceeds cost, quality, and schedule requirements. This will also include managing projects of various scopes Required Skills: • Experience with developing and troubleshooting PLC hardware and software issues • Lead new programs/products through production and ensure product meets cost, delivery, and customer/internal specifications requirements including coordinating efforts with design and quality engineering • Identify all tools, equipment and fixtures required to manufacture the product to the specifications • Work with operations team to drive efficiency by innovating our assembly and manufacturing processes • Improve both manufacturing and business processes by eliminating waste • Ensure a safe working environment is set and maintained • Develop, design, acquire, or create new equipment for improved productivity, efficiency, and safety • Work with EH&S to identify and resolve ergonomic issues and other safety concerns • Maintain excellent documentation of process changes and follow change management processes • Analyze data, interact with operations, and collect information to achieve root cause problem solving • Identify, assess feasibility, and manage change for continuous improvement initiatives • Utilize Lean principles to setup and improve work cells including: 5S Workplace Organization, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Factory Management, Error Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance, Kaizen, Kanban/Pull Systems, Set-Up Reduction, and Standard Work. Preferred Skills: • Demonstrated use of Lean Manufacturing tools and process improvement • Experience in writing work instructions • Experience of Military and Aerospace procedures, specifications, and regulations • Fluent with desktop computers and ability to use Microsoft office with proficiency • Ability to read and understand customer/internal documentation, blueprints, and electrical schematics • Experience in new product introduction or product lifecycle processes • Working knowledge of cable and harness assemblies • Familiarity with the use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks systems • Experience with document control programs such as PDM.
