Role Description
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the plant and ensuring the facility is operated in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. He will also meet the production and financial goals of the company. The successful candidate will be adept at optimizing plant functions, developing effective production strategies and streamlining processes to boost efficiency. This position is responsible for managing the support functions for manufacturing to include production, shipping and receiving, HSE and budgeting. Ultimately, the Plant Manager will ensure the plant operates efficiently and safely while meeting our business objectives.
AS PLANT MANAGER, YOU WILL:
· Oversee daily operation of the plant, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
· Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards, environment regulations and health and safety guidelines.
· Manage and guide personnel, resolving any issues that may arise and promoting a positive working environment.
· Develop annual operating and long-term strategic plans.
· Oversee the scheduling and timely completion of maintenance and repairs to prevent operational interruptions.
· Collaborate with engineers and other professional staff to develop process improvement.
· Analyze plant performance data and make adjustments to operations, processes, and equipment as needed.
· Coordinate with other departments to optimize operations and resources.
· Prepare and manage the plant budget.
· Stay informed of latest chemical processing technologies and industry best practices.
· Assist product managers with production forecasting on new product initiatives, assist on any strategic planning initiatives as required, coordinating all spending efforts within the company guidelines, and working with Operations and Engineering to obtain needed reports and all other production information.
A QUALIFIED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
· A BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or relevant field. An MBA or related advanced degree would be a plus.
· Proven experience as a Chemical Plant Manager or similar role in an industrial setting.
· In-depth knowledge of chemical plant operations and industry regulations.
· Strong leadership and team management abilities.
· Proficiency in overseeing and managing operational budget.
· Experience with construction, commercial agreements and ISO 9001.
· The ability to train and motivate production employees to meet daily goals, a sharp eye for continuous process improvement and an existing knowledge of OSHA, safety and environmental regulations.
· Understanding all safety and environmental issues is required.
· Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
