Project Manager – Water Modeling and Planning | Greenville, SC

Our client, a nationally recognized engineering and consulting firm, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Water Infrastructure Modeling, Analytics, and Planning (WI-MAP) Team in Greenville, South Carolina. This role is ideal for a water industry professional with a strong background in water, wastewater, and reuse infrastructure planning and modeling who thrives in leading technical teams and delivering complex, community-driven solutions.

As part of a growing national resource team, the selected candidate will help manage and execute conceptual and master planning projects, lead multi-discipline teams, and support business development efforts across the country.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Technical Leadership
  • Lead and manage conceptual planning and master planning projects for water, wastewater, and reuse systems

  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables

  • Perform and review hydraulic modeling and analytical studies using tools such as:

    • Bentley WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS

    • Innovyze InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM

  • Coordinate with regional client service teams, engineering teams, and support disciplines throughout project lifecycles

  • Facilitate internal and external project workshops and client meetings

  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate efforts across multiple office locations

  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance protocols and project management plans

Business Development Support
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals and scopes of work

  • Assist in developing project budgets and man-hour estimates

  • Represent the firm at conferences, industry committees, and client presentations

  • Help identify new project opportunities and support existing client relationships

Project Focus Areas May Include:

  • Water distribution system planning, including pump stations, storage, and water loss studies

  • Wastewater collection system planning, including I&I analysis and lift station evaluations

  • Integrated water supply planning, including groundwater, surface water, reuse, and water rights

  • Asset management for water and wastewater infrastructure

  • Conveyance system optimization, wire-to-water analysis, and transient analysis

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

  • 5+ years of technical experience in water/wastewater engineering

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in master planning for municipal water/wastewater systems

  • Experience in developing capital improvement programs (CIPs)

  • PE license in any U.S. state (or ability to obtain within 6 months)

  • Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software

  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Proven leadership on multi-discipline planning projects

  • Experience with asset management programs for linear water/wastewater systems

  • Familiarity with rate studies, impact fee assessments, and water rights permitting

  • Experience using GIS tools for data analysis, mapping, and reporting

Compensation:
$110,000-$145,000 per year
