Assists registered nurse and surgical technologist with patient care and operation of departmental services, e.g. turnaround time, under the supervision of the Lead Attendant and Clinical Coordinator/ Director. JOB REQUIREMENTS 1. High School diploma or equivalent .. Current BLS certification required .. One year nursing attendant or patient care experience preferred .. Good communication skills, knowledge of aseptic technique and proper housekeeping protocols helpful. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Transports blood / tissue specimens to the Laboratory .. Obtains blood for surgery patients as required .. Maintains supplies in dressing rooms (e.g. scrub caps, shoe covers, etc.) for staff and physician use .. Maintains gas cylinders as needed (CO 2, O 2) for department .. Maintains supplies at scrub sinks and keeps scrub sinks cleared of scrub sponges / brushes.
