This individual will directly influence product availability, margin performance, logistical efficiency, and long-term operational scalability by sourcing factories, negotiating supplier agreements, strengthening vendor relations and designing cost-effective international logistics strategies.This is a hands-on, execution focused role where you'll take full ownership of our global sourcing and logistics process, actively driving the work from strategy through implementation. This role requires frequent international travel, hands-on factory assessments, and the ability to drive results in both strategic sourcing and tactical execution.This position is in Greenville, SC. You must be located in the Greenville, SC area. This position is NOT remote.What Will We Give You For Your Hard Work120-140k Salary, depending on experienceFlexible work environment401(k) with generous company match and immediate vestingExcellent Paid Time Off policyUp to 80 hours Sick Time per year96 hours off per year for volunteer opportunities11 paid holidays per yearAward winning work environmentDevelopment Reimbursement of $1000 per yearMedical, Dental, Vision, and Voluntary BenefitsOur Values Drive Everything We DoCarry passion.Desire excellence.Keep dreaming.Build community.Be Vivacious.While no day will be completely the same, you will execute daily responsibilities in these various functions:Identify, evaluate, and onboard best-fit manufacturing partners across Asia, Latin America, and other global regionsLead onsite factory visits to assess quality, compliance, production capacity, and alignment with Vivacity standardsNegotiate pricing, terms, and service-level agreements (SLAs) with factories and component suppliersDesign and implement end-to-end shipping strategies for ocean, air, and intermodal transportSelect and manage freight forwarders, 3PLs, and customs brokers.Reduce landed costs and improve delivery timelines through efficient routing, port selection, and volume leverageEnsure proper documentation and compliance with import/export regulations, including Incoterms, HS codes, and country-of-origin requirements.Partner with Product, Sales, and Finance teams to align sourcing decisions with demand forecasts and margin targetsProvide factory lead times, capacity updates, and shipping ETAs to internal stakeholdersCollaborate with IT and Data teams to integrate supplier and logistics metrics into internal reporting platformsDrive supplier diversification and contingency planning to mitigate geopolitical and operational risksRecommend long-term shifts such as nearshoring, in-region sourcing, or alternate transport modelsAnalyze trends in raw material pricing, freight markets, and regulatory changes to inform sourcing strategyKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong negotiation and contract management skills, particularly in international contextsDeep understanding of global sourcing, supplier vetting, and compliance requirementsKnowledge of international logistics operations, including ocean, air and intermodal shippingCulturally competent and able to build effective relationships with international partnersExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentExtremely proficient with Google Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated softwareAbility to work independentlyEducation & Experience8-10 years in global sourcing and/or supply chain managementBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 3 years in a leadership or strategic decision-making roleProven experience negotiating international supplier contracts and managing freight/logistics operationsExperience conducting onsite audits and assessments across global regions (e.g., Asian, Latin America), preferredAdditional RequirementsProlonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computerAbility to bend, sit, and lift up to 50 lbsFrequent international travel required; minimum 25% of time spent abroad for onsite factory visits and partner engagementSeniority level Seniority level DirectorEmployment type Employment type Full-timeJob function Job function Purchasing and Supply ChainIndustries Computer Hardware ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Vivacity Tech PBC by 2xGet notified about new Director Global Sourcing jobs in Greenville, SC .We're unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
