Reports To: Director of Operations

Employment Type: Part-Time - 35 hours

Job Summary:

The Ministry Support and Events Director at Mauldin First Baptist Church serves as the first point of contact for members, visitors, and the community, while managing the coordination and execution of church events. This dual-role position requires a welcoming demeanor, organizational excellence, and a heart for ministry to ensure effective communication, efficient office operations, and the success of church-hosted events.

Hours:

Monday – Thursday | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Sunday | 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Primary Responsibilities:

Ministry Support Duties:

  • Greet visitors and answer phone calls in a warm and professional manner.
  • Manage church correspondence, including emails, letters, and other churchwide communication.
  • Maintain and update databases.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and ordering supplies.
  • Distribute mail and handle deliveries for the church office.
  • Manage churchwide email communication.

· Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for the Director of Operations and Senior Pastor.

· Assist in bulletin and newsletter preparation.

· Assist in coordinating facility usage.

Event Director Duties:

  • Collaborate with staff and ministry leaders to plan and execute events
  • Mother's Day
  • Father's Day
  • Easter
  • Christmas
  • Communion
  • Baptism
  • Funerals
  • Weddings
  • Maintain the church event calendar and communicate event schedules to staff and members.
  • Coordinate facility usage, including room reservations, setup, and breakdown.
  • Serve as the primary contact for event logistics, including catering, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Ensure events align with the church's mission and vision.

Qualifications:

  • Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Mauldin First Baptist Church.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) and church management systems.
  • Experience in Mailchimp, Planning Center Services, Planning Center People, Planning Center Calendars, Canva, and Realm is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
