The Family Success Coach plays a critical role in advancing Greer Relief's mission by partnering with families to help them identify and achieve their goals. This position uses a family-centered, strengths-based coaching model to support neighbors in navigating complex systems, accessing community resources, and developing the tools for long-term success. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and adaptable, with a deep commitment to equity and empowerment for all.

Reports To Director of Mission Impact

Key Responsibilities:

Family Coaching & Navigation

  • Build trusting, collaborative relationships with families to understand their goals, strengths, and challenges.
  • Conduct intake assessments and set short- and long-term goals with families using a coaching framework.
  • Provide consistent, strengths-based support through regular check-ins, goal tracking, and coaching conversations.
  • Connect families with community resources such as housing, utilities, employment, childcare, transportation, education, and healthcare.
  • Help families navigate public assistance systems, understand eligibility, and advocate for themselves.
  • Ensure warm handoffs to partner agencies and follow up to confirm successful service connection.
  • Promote self-sufficiency by empowering families to build life skills, overcome barriers, and thrive.

Case Management & Support Services

  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in Charity Tracker and other required databases.
  • Evaluate requests for financial assistance, verify documentation, and distribute support in accordance with program guidelines.
  • Communicate with landlords, utility providers, and other vendors to coordinate payments and pledges.
  • Assist with preparing and distributing food, hygiene products, or household items as needed.
  • Ensure all documentation meets funding source guidelines and is ready for periodic audits and reporting.

Mission Impact Support

  • Maintain a clean, welcoming, and professional environment in Mission Impact spaces.
  • Respond to in-person and phone inquiries with professionalism and empathy.
  • Collaborate with teammates to deliver wraparound services through Greer Relief programs, including RENEW and Essential Services.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, staff trainings, and organization-wide initiatives.
  • Submit accurate and timely data, reports, and outcome documentation to the Director of Mission Impact.
  • Collaborating with the team at Greer Relief to enhance and improve the organization's programs, contributing valuable insights and ideas to foster community support.
  • Support donation intake and organization when needed.
  • Taking on the responsibility to submit Essential Services reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Uphold the Ethical Standards for Human Services Professionals, demonstrating professionalism and integrity in all interactions.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and a shared commitment to Greer Relief's mission.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support agency success.

Schedule

  • Full-time exempt position with a standard Monday–Friday schedule.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours required based on program and neighbor needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience working with individuals or families in a social service or nonprofit setting.
  • Experience with case management, housing assistance, or coaching preferred.
  • Familiarity with systems such as LIHTC, Section 8, Fair Housing, or DHHS services is a plus.

  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with file-sharing and digital filing systems (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Experience with case management software platforms or CRM (e.g., Charity Tracker, Salesforce) is a plus.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for work-related travel.
  • Ability to sit, type, and communicate on the phone for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular, in-person attendance required; this is not a remote position.
  • Must pass a criminal and financial background check.
  • $28,000 – $38,000 annually
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates will receive additional compensation.
