Wood is recruiting for an Electrical Designer to join its Americas (PC) business, supporting industrial projects in the Process & Chemicals sector. This opportunity is hybrid and can be based in Greenville, SC; Tucker, GA; or Charlotte, NC.

Candidates must be authorized to legally work in the US without sponsorship.

The Role
This entry to mid-level position is ideal for an electrical design professional looking to grow within a collaborative team. The role supports drawing and deliverable development for E&I projects across various industries. Revit experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Works under the close supervision of an experienced discipline Designer
  • Functions in a support role, providing drawing and deliverable development while assisting the discipline design team with accomplishing overall project objectives
  • Performs tasks with increasing competency by expanding knowledge and use of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Creates AutoCAD designs/drawings from engineering and design sketches, mark-ups, typical reference drawings and verbal instruction.
  • Coordinate with other discipline designers to ensure verbally received information is communicated and clearly understood
  • Assist discipline designers in drawing and deliverable development of One-Line Diagrams, Control Schematics, Interconnect Wiring diagrams, Plans, Details, Cable Schedules, and various spreadsheets
  • Assist discipline designers and ensure drawings are compatible and align with project and client requirements
  • Participate in all available technical training while continuously improving technical skill sets

Expected:
* Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent
* Entry-level to 4 years of experience in electrical layout design
* Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit
* Effective written and oral communication skills
* Strong attention to detail and organization
* High level of awareness and commitment to safety
* Self-starter, proactive and motivated
* Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Desirable:
* Familiarity with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and related tools
* Experience with Navisworks or other 3D model review tools
* Basic knowledge of NEC or industrial electrical standards
* Field experience or willingness to conduct occasional site visits
