Wood is recruiting for a Senior Electrical Layout Designer to join its Americas (PC) business focusing on industrial project support within the Chemical, Forest Industries and Power Generation sectors. This opportunity is hybrid and can be based in Tucker, GA, Greenville, SC, or the Charlotte, NC area.

The Role
The Senior Electrical Layout Designer will lead and support the development of electrical layout deliverables and 3D models for large-scale industrial projects. The role requires deep experience in Revit modeling and project team coordination, including mentoring of junior staff and oversight of deliverable quality.

Responsibilities
- Review project schedules with the Lead Electrical Engineer to verify that all dates and project requirements are realistic for assigned projects.
- Supervise design teams at all levels.
- Prepare project specific standards and job notes.
- Design preparation, production and approval of electrical drawings and deliverables as appropriate.
- Develop, review and approve electrical deliverables such as (but not limited to) Electrical Underground Ductbank, Electrical Grounding, Lighting, Electrical Equipment Layout, Cable Tray, Area Classification and Standard Installation detail drawings
- Comment on other discipline drawings and specifications where relevant. Review and approve the electrical interface drawings applicable to mechanical and electrical interface.
- Review and Execute Electrical Layout modeling in Revit, BIM 360 and Navisworks.
- Produce, review and approve electrical location drawings based on the electrical database, EFD's and plant layout drawings.
- Develop / provide input on the 3D Model for both Electrical Layout and other disciplines interface modeling.
- Liaise with engineers to ensure design intent on various projects is implemented.
- Liaise closely with electrical designers for the creation and validation of electrical design drawings and deliverables.
- Perform Site existing infrastructure assessments and attend to site construction queries.
- Perform as required and supervise As Building as required for design deliverables development.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to electrical designers.
- Suggest ways to improve efficiency, costs and service in the execution of projects.
- Keep abreast of developments in the Electrical Engineering field.
- Perform any other duties assigned within reason by the Lead Electrical Engineer.

Expected:
* 10+ years of experience in Chemical, Forest Industries, or Power Generation projects
* Extensive experience with Electrical Layout design in Revit
* Demonstrated success in managing projects and mentoring design teams
* Associate degree or equivalent experience with ongoing education
* Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 80, Life Safety Code
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Experience performing site walk-downs and developing design solutions
* Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Desirable:
* Familiarity with BIM 360, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
* Experience coordinating with workshare offices
* Experience participating in client and interdisciplinary model reviews
* Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other standard office tools
