Position Summary

The Junior Electrical Engineer plays a key role in the design and development of innovative control and automation solutions for Daedalus Industrial's diverse client base. This entry-level position provides early-career engineers the opportunity to apply core electrical engineering principles to create precise, efficient, and future-ready designs that support our mission of redefining efficiency through expertise and modularity. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, the Junior Electrical Engineer contributes to system layouts, control panel designs, schematics, and technical documentation, while supporting project delivery from concept through installation and commissioning. This role emphasizes design quality, standards compliance, and collaboration in a fast-paced, solutions-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, layout, and specification of electrical systems, control panels, and components for custom automation and industrial control projects.
  • Support the build, installation, and testing of electrical systems including motors, drives, sensors, PLCs, and control panels on custom-built equipment.
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bill of materials, and other technical documentation to support internal teams and client deliverables.
  • Support system integration by collaborating with senior engineers during design reviews, panel fabrication oversight, and commissioning activities.
  • Perform basic testing, verification, and inspections of electrical designs to ensure compliance with company standards, applicable codes, and project requirements.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and technical problem-solving, providing design updates or documentation revisions to address issues during installation or start-up.
  • Work cross-functionally with mechanical, controls, and applications engineering teams to ensure cohesive, right-sized solutions that balance performance, safety, and cost.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, standardization efforts, and design library updates to enhance project efficiency and repeatability.
  • Maintain organized and accurate design files, records, and technical data throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in an electrical engineering role (internships/co-ops acceptable).
  • Foundational knowledge of industrial automation systems and components.
  • Familiarity with electrical standards and codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70E, UL508A).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic CAD tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a hands-on, team-oriented engineering environment.

Working Conditions
  • Work takes place in engineering offices, assembly shops, and equipment build areas, with exposure to automation panels, electrical systems, and integration activities.
  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required in shop or client site visits.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites or vendor locations may be necessary for installation or support.
