Job Profile Summary
Under general direction, this administrative position provides leadership and direction for the department of Workforce & Continuing Education: Workforce and professional development programs for businesses and the community. Work closely with the AVP, Workforce & Continuing Education in developing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating policies, procedures, strategies, and projects. Oversees educational services and programs, marketing/sales, operations, budget planning and resource allocation of the departmentMinimum Education:
Master's Degree required in Business, Adult Education, Vocational Administration or equivalent fields.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum Experience/Training:
Eight years of experience in program development and coordination of non-credit courses (workforce and community education), including marketing, budget and payroll management. Five years of management experience and background working with community organizations and outreach programs.
Essential Function:
Daily - 25%: Provides leadership and direction in the development and implementation of Continuing Education workforce and community programs. Works collaboratively with the Workforce & Continuing Education in planning and development of policies, strategies and guiding principles to generate revenue and profit.
Daily - 15%: Maintains professional contacts and plays an active leadership role in the community. Participates in local, state and national organizations. Researches and analyzes workforce and educational trends to identify and develop in-demand training, industry certifications and credentials needed in the workplace.
Daily - 15%: Responsible for people management of the area, including recommendation of staffing, hiring, termination and discipline, setting performance standards and evaluating staff, and staff development.
Daily - 15%: Manages, develops and implements an integrated marketing plan aligned with college's brand; overseeing website, social media, and associated print materials. Promotes programs through various business strategies, partnerships, organization, and grants. Tracks success of marketing plans and modifies to ensure College goals are achieved.
Daily - 15%: Develops, administers and monitors departmental finances: budget, payroll, purchasing, inventory, and revenue generating strategies.
Monthly - 5%: Responsible for benchmarking, strategizing, developing and reporting on appropriate metrics to track and report core performance outcomes as aligned with College's strategic plan.
Other: Ongoing - 5%: Oversees contractual agreements and MOUs. Manages and collaborates with project directors, to administer grant funded programs
Other - Ongoing - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.

General understanding of the external environment and how it affects academia in general and Broward in particular, including political, legal, environmental, educational, financial and social influences.
Strong knowledge of College structure, policies and practices, and the impact on own area.
Proven expertise in planning and executing operational plans, managing projects and/or programs, budgeting and cost control.
Strong managerial and team building skills, and demonstrated ability to motivate and empower direct and indirect reports to achieve area priorities.
Ability to diagnose, plan and manage resource requirements for own area, including staffing, budgets, equipment, etc.
Ability to partner with others across the College and externally to exchange information, collaborate on projects, share resources, etc.
Ability to influence others of the benefits/importance of an idea or plan of action and to gain their support or commitment.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to reach mutual points of agreement and benefit among peers and colleagues.
