Role Purpose – Finance in Spirax Sarco

This role is a critical member of the Senior Executive team, leading the execution of the company's vision, advancement, and growth strategy.
It is part of the USA Executive Team and reports directly to the General Manager & President of Sales. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of the USA OpCo and the Americas Division of Steam Thermal Solutions. As a member of the USA Executive team, this role will drive cultural change and investment to make Spirax Sarco USA a great place to work.

You will be instrumental in providing Finance Business Partner support, articulating & implementing the Customer First strategy, and supporting the Sales organization in making commercially sound decisions to boost growth. You will also lead strategic or improvement projects within your scope of role.

Key Aspects of the Role

  1. Strategic Finance Advice and Support to the US AGM and SLT: Partner with senior management and work closely with the GM to support business goals; develop insightful reporting & identify opportunities; support business development and lead internal efficiency projects or business opportunities.
  2. Leading the Finance Profession: Ensure the provision of necessary financial services and resources; lead talent development, and improve finance function quality and capabilities. Oversee the Shared Service finance organization, ensuring collaboration and high service levels with supply partners.
  3. Articulation and Business Case for Company Services/ERP: Support the implementation of ERP platforms through Project Zenith and other shared back-office processes.
  4. Performance Reporting & Business Planning: Develop systems for analyzing performance, ensure data integrity, and lead forecasting improvements.
  5. Decision Support: Provide timely advice and challenge on business information to facilitate decision-making.
  6. Business Improvement Initiatives: Engage in operational issues, monitor overheads, cash flow, and validate significant investments.
  7. Internal Controls Improvement: Act as sponsor for governance and internal controls, addressing weaknesses and audit findings.
  8. Culture of Inclusion and Wellbeing: Model and promote inclusive and wellbeing-focused behaviors within the leadership teams.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • Advantageous: CIMA/ACCA/ACA/CPA certifications
  • Extensive financial planning, analysis, and strategy development experience
  • Strong analytical, communication, and risk management skills
  • Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting

Preferred Experience

  • Leadership in finance within an operating business
  • Business partnering with GMs and operational management
  • Experience with ERP, shared services, and process change
  • Knowledge of Local GAAP, IFRS, tax, and treasury operations
  • Experience in internal procedures enforcement and commercial risk management
  • Track record of driving financial performance improvements
