The Phlebotomist I will assist in performing various assigned duties including blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, data recording, and workflow improvements.
The role requires collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, explaining the venipuncture process to patients, and demonstrating techniques using straight or butterfly needles.
Additional responsibilities include matching laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes, labeling and packaging specimens for transport, maintaining sample integrity, complying with safety regulations, attending trainings, and responding to telephone inquiries.
Requirement/Must Have:
Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, if required.
Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Skilled in drawing both pediatric and geriatric patients.
Qualification and Education:
High School Diploma or GED.
