CTG is seeking to fill a Splunk Engineer opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Remote

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

Serves as a specialist in a group of technologies and services supported within technology. This role will focus primarily on leading the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of the Bank's SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) infrastructure, playing a pivotal role in enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and architecture of the Bank's SIEM infrastructure, ensuring effectiveness, scalability, and compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Implement, configure, and optimize SIEM solutions to collect, correlate, and analyze security event data from a wide range of sources

  • Develop and maintain SIEM use cases, correlation rules, alerts, and reports for threat detection and incident prioritization

  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity and Security Engineering teams on incident investigation and root cause analysis

  • Lead SIEM-related projects including upgrades, tool integrations, and enhancement efforts

  • Mentor junior SIEM engineers and promote team knowledge sharing

  • Participate in incident response exercises and simulations to enhance response capabilities

  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices

  • Work with IT operations, compliance, and risk teams to align with security and regulatory standards

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to design and execute technical solutions

  • Participate in infrastructure architecture and design, R&D of new systems, creation of standards and policies, and integration testing

  • Analyze user requirements and operational constraints; contribute to system documentation and user acceptance testing

  • Act as a liaison with business partners to ensure technical solutions align with business objectives

  • Coordinate with vendors and manage vendor resources when necessary

  • Continuously expand knowledge of financial services technologies and maintain expertise in Bank applications and vendor platforms

  • Promote adherence to industry best practices and internal risk/regulatory standards

  • Support and promote an inclusive and diverse work environment reflective of the organization's brand

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and coach junior engineers, technicians, and integrators

  • Review and provide feedback on documentation and technical solutions proposed by less experienced staff

  • Lead project-based teams for SIEM or related infrastructure initiatives

Education and Experience Required:

  • Combined minimum of 8 years of higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management, or architecture

  • Senior Splunk Engineering Experience

  • Splunk SIEM Design and Architecture

  • Strong understanding of system development and infrastructure lifecycle, vendor best practices, IT service management, and systems design

  • Data Modeling and parsing

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $65/hr to $80/hr. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
