Fixed Base Operations (FBO) General Manager

About the job

Primary Purpose of the Position

Reporting to the CEO or COO, the FBO GM is responsible for leading and managing daily operations at the airport, working closely with senior leadership to deliver world-class customer service in a safe environment. The role involves leading a high-performing team, with extensive industry experience, preferably with profit and loss responsibility, to ensure the business drives sustainable EBITDA growth.

Essential Functions

  1. P&L Management
  2. Set and drive organizational vision, strategy, and hiring with senior leadership
  3. Translate strategy into actionable growth plans and operational goals
  4. Oversee all location operations, employee engagement, and labor management, fostering an inclusive culture
  5. Ensure compliance with regulations and take corrective actions as needed
  6. Manage daily operations and maximize gross profit through pricing strategies
  7. Participate in ESG strategy development and implement emerging technology solutions
  8. Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  9. Improve workplace efficiency, profitability, and communication through audits
  10. Develop and implement training programs
  11. Build relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders
  12. Work with finance on budgets and strategic plans
  13. Manage expenses and capital projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
  14. Analyze data and metrics to evaluate performance
  15. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and staff development

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Proven P&L management experience in general aviation or FBO operations
  2. Strategic planning and business development skills
  3. Knowledge of data analysis and operational metrics
  4. Proficiency in IT, business infrastructure, and MS Office
  5. Strong leadership and organizational skills
  6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  7. Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  8. Decision-making and problem-solving aptitude
  9. Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Community relations skills and ability to liaise with regulatory agencies and community organizations
