Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity in Greenville, SC. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in a wide range of I&C design tasks supporting engineering and construction projects. This is a full-time, onsite role offering competitive compensation and per diem for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diverse I&C design engineering activities including:
- Control systems architecture.
- PLC/DCS development and configuration.
- Digital systems, HMI, and network design.
- Logic development and communication protocols.
- Instrumentation specifications and procurement support.
- P&ID support and review.
- SIL analysis and system evaluations.
- Interpret and apply National, State, and Local codes/standards for design and construction documentation.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, system descriptions, and specifications.
- Provide engineering cost and schedule estimates.
- Support project startup and commissioning.
- Utilize computer-aided drafting software for design support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical (Power) Engineering or similar accredited discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in I&C design engineering (nuclear experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of applicable Federal (DOE Orders), State, and Local electrical design codes and standards
- Proficiency with computer-aided design tools
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred, but not required
