Key Responsibilities

  • Material Planning: Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to develop material requirements plans, ensuring timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and optimize inventory levels to minimize excess stock while preventing shortages, maintaining accurate records using ERP systems.
  • Supplier Coordination: Assist in negotiating with suppliers to secure high-quality materials at competitive prices, fostering strong vendor relationships.
  • Cost Control: Analyze material costs and implement strategies to reduce expenses without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline material handling, storage, and logistics processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Team Supervision: Support the Materials Manager in leading a team of material planners and coordinators, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Compliance: Ensure all material procurement and handling processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Data Analysis: Generate reports on inventory status, supplier performance, and material usage to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in materials management, procurement, or supply chain roles within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Certifications: APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus.
  • Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working collaboratively across departments.

Working Conditions

  • Primarily office-based with regular visits to production floors and warehouses.
  • May require occasional travel to supplier sites or other company facilities.
  • Standard working hours with potential for overtime during peak production periods.
