About the Role

We're looking for an Analytics & BI Engineer to join our growing data team. In this role, you'll work closely with data engineers, software engineers, and product management to determine how data is modeled, visualized, and consumed across the organization. You'll own the development of our self-serve analytics platform, enabling business users to access curated datasets and build their own dashboards and insights. You'll transform raw data into clean, well-structured models using dbt, then surface them through Sigma and other BI tools with a strong focus on usability. You'll monitor data quality, create data tests, and surface test results to end users. You'll partner closely with data governance to align naming conventions, business definitions, and reference data standards - ensuring consistency, clarity, and trust in the data across all teams. Your work will make it easy for non-technical users to confidently explore data and answer their own questions. This is a high-impact role that blends backend data modeling with front-end dashboard design and self-service enablement.

What You'll Do

• Design and own the buildout of our self-serve analytics platform, making it easy for stakeholders to access reliable, intuitive datasets and create their own dashboards.
• Develop and maintain dbt models that transform raw data into clean, extensible datasets that follow consistent naming conventions, data definitions, and documentation standards.
• Create semantic layers and reusable data assets that empower business users to build their own metrics, charts, and dashboards in Sigma or other BI tools.
• Monitor data quality, create data tests, and surface test results to end users.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand key metrics and ensure the self-serve data environment aligns with business needs.
• Design and deliver interactive dashboards that demonstrate best practices in self-service design and usability.
• Curate and conform reference data from internal systems, clients, and standards bodies
• Create and refine user personas to guide product design and improve dashboard relevance
• Write clean, well-documented SQL and Python code to support analytics workflows.
• Manage and document metadata to support analytics workflows, including automated testing, code generation, and data documentation
• Continuously improve our data infrastructure to support a scalable and sustainable self-service analytics model.
• Promote best practices in data modeling, visualization, and usage across the organization

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in an analytics, BI, or data engineering role.
• Strong visual communication and data storytelling skills.
• Strong SQL skills and experience building robust, modular data models using dbt.
• Experience designing scalable, governed, self-service dashboards using tools like Sigma, Looker, or Tableau.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, or data workflows.
• Proficiency in data modeling and dataset design, including field naming, data definitions, and usability.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and evangelize best practices in data usage.
• Experience working with modern cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift).
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD for analytics workflows.
• Previous work in a SaaS company and experience in supply chain management and logistics is a plus.
