Maintenance Manager

Description:

The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the maintenance, development, and execution of long-term equipment and technology strategies. Drive innovation through the delivery of new product solutions. Design, implement, and test automated machinery used in production. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical equipment. Ensure all machinery and equipment function properly and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the implementation of new machinery, projects, layouts, and health and environmental factors across all departments to ensure successful completion and operation for facility.
• Analyzes, recommends, and implements machinery upgrades and alterations to improve production problems, maximize the product process and minimize costs.
• Leads Preventative Maintenance (PM) activities, expand the automation and controls knowledge base in support of new and existing product development.
• Recommends and executes improvements to speed, stability, quality, and other factors in collaboration with all departments involved.
• Assist in the draft and design layout of equipment and work areas to illustrate safe operation and maximum efficiency.
• Improve reliability, utilization, yield, and efficiency of existing processes.
• Design process improvement projects.
• Promote cost effectiveness.
• Keep track of engineering changes and updating necessary documents.
• Leads and assists in machine installation, operation and maintenance.
• Troubleshoot and identify equipment problems and solutions.
• Basic programming of Allen Bradly PLC's and Fanuc Robots
• Troubleshoot electrical circuits from schematics, wiring diagrams and interconnect diagrams.
• Create/maintain Work Instructions for maintenance department.
• Collect and interpret automation and controls project needs from a variety of sources.
• Support on product development projects that include significant controls deliverables.
• Specify, develop, procure, install, and test equipment and controls systems.
• Lead in creation of installation, operation & maintenance manuals and other supporting documentation for product / equipment launches and modifications.
• Assist in creation of templates and the infrastructure to handoff product development projects and improvement projects over to the plant.
• Additional duties as assigned

Continuous Improvement
• Champion continuous improvement and cost reduction efforts for the department.
• Coordinate with other departments to identify, analyze and resolve problems.
• Introduce or recommend changes to work methods
• Willing and able to learn and support Continuous Improvement initiatives such as; 5S, Standardized Work, Kanban, JIT, Kaizen, and Poke-Yoke.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Automation, Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Engineering
• 5+ years in a similar occupation and/or technical field is preferred.
• 2+ years of prior maintenance/automation experience
• Automotive manufacturing experience
• Engineering leadership experience
• Meet tight time constraints and deadlines
• PM's and troubleshooting
• Experience with injection molding machines and robots
• Interact professionally with various levels of employees and outside representatives
• Write effective work instructions and standard operating procedures and other correspondence accurately.
• Prepare reports and correspondence
• Highly organized and creative
• Strong research skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, vendors, etc.
• Ability to work independently.

Preferred skills:
• Siemens PLC/ Allen Bradley knowledge
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Understanding of software development and computer programming
• Proficiency in hardware and software development and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of database management systems.
• Experience with Fanuc robots
• Programming a plus but can be taught.
• Experience with paint
